All
of us who have received God's love in our lives and who now live for Him must
be aware that we are in a daily struggle.
Every day we fight a battle
in our lives, between wanting to please God and wanting to satisfy our sinful
instincts, whether they are of any kind.
He who is not aware of this
or who does not take the due care he deserves, will easily find temptations of
all kinds that will gradually want to drag him into error.
The
Bible says: “Be alert! Take care of your great enemy, the devil,
because he lurks like a roaring lion, looking for who to devour. ”1 Peter 5: 8
(New Living Translation).
No matter how strong you
think you are, nor the enormous capacity you think you have to be able to
resist the enemy, it is not about you, or how good you are for this or that, it
is that just like all humans you are of flesh and bone and with a nature that
easily leads you to sin. That is why the Apostle Peter recommends us: “Be
alert!”, That should lead us to think that at any moment the enemy can launch
one of his attacks on our life to bring us down.
That
is why the Bible also tells us: "Therefore, let no one feel sure
that he will not sin, for he may be the first to do so." 1 Corinthians
10:12 (Translation in current language). This same biblical
passage in another version says: "So, whoever thinks to be firm,
see that he does not fall." 1 Corinthians 10:12 (King James Version).
It
is not about believing very strongly in the face of sin and for that reason
walking in search of him , in the Bible we read that God motivates us
to flee from sin, to get away from him and not to look for him: “Do
not get carried away by temptations Own your age. You are young, so stay
away from those things and dedicate yourself to doing good. Seek justice,
love and peace, and join those who, in all sincerity, worship God and trust
him. ”2 Timothy 2:22 (Translation in current language).
Perhaps in the last days
you have walked behind sin, you have believed yourself strong enough and have
been in places that you very well know you should not be.
Perhaps you have been playing
with fire little by little without burning yourself and that has made you
believe that sin cannot against you, however without realizing it you are
slowly being dragged to the battlefield of the enemy where he will love you
surround and when he launches his final attack he will want to hurt you to
death.
Do
not let the enemy fool you into believing you very strong, you, like me, are
vulnerable, we have a tendency to sin and no matter how strong we think we are,
we can fall at any moment. For that reason the Bible advises us: “So
humble yourself before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
”James 4: 7 (New Living Translation). Humbling yourself before
God has to do with recognizing our weakness to sin and our total dependence on
God.
Do you really want to be
strong in the face of sin? Then let us humble ourselves before God, obey his
Word and if his word motivates us to flee from everything that incites us to
sin, then ? Let's do it! Humbling yourself before God has to do with
seeking each day to please Him, recognize our need for Him and recognize that
without Him we are nothing, that all our abilities come from Him and therefore
we owe everything.
Do not play with fire, do
not believe that you will always have the ability to stop at the right time,
what if one day that capacity that you boast so much fails you ?, Do not let
the enemy take advantage, on the contrary, take it out advantage you, looking
for God and running away from everything that wants to lead you to sin.
God seeks determined
people to flee from sin and approach Him!
