We live in a
"Christian" culture that sometimes differs from what the gospel
really should be. We get used to "social clubs" rather than a Church
that lives in the same feeling. We yearn to be economically prospered thinking
that this is the true blessing and we forget that Jesus said he had no place to
lay his head (“Jesus said to him: Foxes have dens, and birds of heaven nest;
but the Son of Man has no where to lay your head. ”Matthew 8:20).
We want to teach others what
they have to do when we ourselves are not able to govern our house well, with
wives who do not respect them and with children who do not honor them.
("That he rules his house well, that he has his children in subjection
with all honesty" 1 Timothy 3: 4 King James Version)
We want to do everything for
God and we do not even take it into account, we have many phrases to denote the
“spiritual”, but none of them carries that power of the Spirit of God because
we live grieving him and sometimes we do not even believe in the power of the
Holy Spirit and we rely on our own wisdom to defend the indefensible. ("Do
not grieve the Holy Spirit of God with the way you live. Remember that he
identified you as yours, and thus He has guaranteed you that you will be saved
on the day of redemption." Ephesians 4:30)
We say that there is no need to
be hypocrites or Pharisees, but we do nothing to live a life that truly pleases
God. We think that by saying what we want we mean sincerity when the reality is
that the mouth often speaks when it has not even thought what it is going to
speak. ("In the many words there is no lack of sin; but he who restrains
his lips is prudent." Proverbs 10:19 King James Version)
We speak of passion for God
when our life is more muted than a coal in the middle of an ocean. We speak of
fidelity to God when we are not able to be faithful to the people we say we
love. We want subjection when we are not able to give ourselves respect, when
our actions scream how bad we live and our screaming preaches are more deaf
than the sound of a falling feather. ("We have been unfaithful to God, we
have not obeyed him; we are violent and treacherous, and we deceive people."
Isaiah 59:13.
We have forgotten who we live
for and what we live for, we think of ourselves rather than God, we use it many
times to defend the ideas that the only ones who benefit are ourselves and not
God. We say we live for God when we really take advantage to live through the
name of God. “Do not fool yourself; God cannot be mocked: for all that man
sows, that will also reap ”Galatians 6: 7 (King James Version)
What happens to us? At what
moment did we lose our way? At what time did we first put our human desires
before carrying out God's will? We live for ourselves and forget to live for
God, we do everything for the benefit ours and nothing to benefit God.
(Ephesians 5:14)
It is time to wake up, it is
time to look in the mirror and finally be honest with ourselves and realize
that we cannot live at the expense of our ideas but through what is written by
God that is only found in the Holy Bible. Let us stop using the Bible to excuse
ourselves in our mediocrity and begin to be what God wants us to be: Saints
because He is Holy. (1 Peter 1:16)
Let's begin to die to ourselves
each day so that God grows in us (John 3:30). Let us really live for God
instead of taking advantage of His Name. Let us give an example to people
instead of bringing out their mistakes, but above all we show the passion for
God that we say we feel so much instead of demanding that people have it.
Return and take the heavy cross
that one day you decided to leave on the road and begin to walk alongside Jesus
(Matthew 16:24), feeling and living the true gospel that goes beyond the vain
ideas of a world that will end.
Do treasures in heaven and not
on earth, live as a heavenly and non-earthly citizen (Matthew 6: 19-21), that
your actions speak louder than your words, but above all put the spiritual
first before the earthly or carnal.
¡LET'S
TURN TO GOD!
